What We Believe

What we believe comes from Holy Scripture, not on the traditions or opinions of others.  That means you can check it out yourself and make sure it is true.

 

1  In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.  He has made us and we are precious to him.

 

2  We have become separated from God because of our sin.  We are trapped and blinded by Satan and need rescued.

 

3  Christ died and rose again that we might be restored to God and enjoy a living personal relationship with him.

 

4  God’s forgiveness is not earned or deserved, it is a gift to be received by faith, as we turn from our sin and trust God to give us life.

 

5  God commands us to be baptised to openly declare our faith in him and to openly identify with him.

 

6  The Holy Spirit comes to live in God’s children to assure them and to help them in their walk with God.

 

7  Holy Scripture is God’s unchanging Word which guides and instructs our lives and calls us to obey.

 

8  The Church are the people who have been made alive to God and belong to him.  God gives gifts to his people to build up the Church and to glorify him.

 

9  Christ has left us with the task to make disciples, to baptise those who believe, and to teach them to obey.

 

10  Christ has promised to return for those who love him that they may be with him forever Those who do not know him will be separated from him forever.
